Batch Brewing Company beers are bloody great. There, I said it, the design of the bottles, the labels that hang on them like a pot of homemade jam, the names… they’ve really got the whole package looking awesome. But it’s what’s in the bottle which is really impressive. The Withnail & IPA is delicious and as you can probably guess from the name, it’s English in style and in flavour. Darker brown than Aussie beers, it pours well with a good head, and the flavour is full of malt and toffee and slight sweetness at the end. But enough of my serious tasting ‘notes’, all that needs to be said is the Batch boys know how to make beer. Go see them in Marrickville, go find them in your local bottle shop, go get some… it’s bloody great!
